Hello to anyone who is listening.
I appreciate your company, welcome!
It has been awhile sense I've posted, life is busy, but here I am. Awhile ago, January to be exact, I uploaded the first permanent collection to my site, Serene Offerings. It finally feels like the proper time to speak on it.
For years now, it seems like the troubles of the world have become more and more prominent, as if our society is continuing to grow louder and more chaotic with each passing day. I'm not sure exactly what is causing it, social media, politics, division, aging, or maybe the mix of everything. I find myself trying to drown the fire in attempts to find fresh air. Shutting off the noise and technology helps significantly, but that's not enough. Comfort and coziness are where I find the most relief. Curling up on the couch with a blanket, or sipping warm drinks from my favorite mug, and even body stretches, (when I manage the time) these are the small ways I soothe my soul.
Finding inner peace and calm is an ongoing quest that I actively pursue.
These practices, although small, have had affects that I didn't expect. I feel less agitated and in return, more kind. It's almost like a reset for my mind. Harmony follows, something I haven't felt in far too long. It's summoned memories from my childhood, where everyone seemed to enjoy each other, and the nonsense of the world didn't matter. I miss those days. That's where I want to be again.
I see others struggling with the same chaotic anxiety of our overstimulating society. It's given me the drive to offer my bits of peace and calm. That's really what Serene Offerings is about. Even if only one person finds relaxation through my work, that's wonderful. And I'm happy with that.
Maybe my deep desire to do good in the world has inspired me to give what I can. I think we've all forgotten that, at the human core, we are all generally good.
We just need to rediscover that, and find our way back to a place of chill.
